A video has surfaced showing a white apartment manager in North Carolina allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old Black child and dousing him with soda. The child's parents are now taking legal action.

Robert Eury and Joella Lee-Eury have filed a federal lawsuit against the apartment manager, Kimberly Jennings. They allege that Jennings physically attacked their son and 8-year-old daughter for using the pool at the apartment complex she oversees.

According to legal documents, the children were swimming in the pool at an apartment complex where their friends reside. Jennings reportedly ordered them to exit the pool. As the children were attempting to leave, Jennings is said to have poured soda on the boy's head and struck him multiple times in the face.

The lawsuit further alleges that Jennings also yanked their daughter's hair and struck her. She is even accused of making a racially derogatory comment towards their son.

Jennings was subsequently arrested on charges of assault. However, the parents state that their children are still traumatized by the incident. They are now suing for discrimination, assault and battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit targets not only Jennings but also the apartment complex and the associated real estate company, seeking damages for the ordeal.
